These filters are for use with The GIMP image manipulation program. They can be used for a variety of functions, some of which could even be consitered artistic. Most of them are for image processing though... To the right you can see the user interface for the plug-in. On the left size you can set the mask to be used for the given function, and on the right size you can set the center point of the mask. Here are the functions that this plug-in supports.

| Dilation | This function takes an image and increases the size of the bright areas in the image. 
|
| Erosion | This function takes an image and decreases the size of the bright areas in the image. 
|
| Opening | Using this function on the image will cause light areas which are smaller in nature to be "opened up" by the darker areas. 
|
| Closing | This function causes small gaps between light areas to be broken up.
