Inkscape 0.40pre3 is now live. 0.40 has lots of exciting new features, you should check it out if you have time. Also, if anyone is interested in packaging that up, that would be great. I'm slightly concerned that we haven't had any packaging of the pre-releases, I don't want another major packaging bug getting into a release.
