I found it interesting to read Fred Branfman's post on being "Good Americans." It takes an interesting tact in comparing current American actions to those of the Nazi's, but not in the way that you'd think. He looks at the people who didn't stand up, and while we judge them for not stopping a horror, is the same thing happening today? While I am appalled at the actions that my government is taking today, I'm not sure that I'm doing enough to stop it. I think that most people are "waiting for the next election," but if the same people keep running you have very limited choices. I would say that the American political system is failing when most people are voting for the 'lesser evil' instead of someone who they believe will make things right.
